Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection partners with Travefy on insurance integration

The planned integration will allow travel advisers to access insurance quotes within their existing booking workflows, reducing administrative duplication

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection (BHTP) is partnering with travel technology platform Travefy to integrate travel insurance quoting and purchasing into the systems used by travel advisers and agencies.

The integration, scheduled for release in late 2026, will allow advisers to use existing traveller and trip information to request insurance quotes, reducing the need to enter the same details across separate platforms.

BHTP is among the first travel insurance providers selected to integrate with Travefy, which offers itinerary management, customer relationship management, proposals, and booking-related tools to travel agencies and tour operators.

The companies said the arrangement was intended to make travel insurance a more accessible part of the booking process while supporting advisers’ existing commercial relationships with insurance providers.

David Chait, CEO of Travefy, said: “Travefy has a unique strength to help drive and grow insurance sales with agencies and advisers on our platform – as a seamless part of the workflow they already run.”

Dean Sivley, President of BHTP, noted that the integration would simplify the quoting and purchasing process without requiring advisers to manage insurance through a separate system.

He also emphasised that final claims decisions would continue to be made by people.

The partnership reflects the wider development of embedded travel insurance distribution, with insurers increasingly seeking to make cover available through the platforms and intermediaries customers already use to arrange travel.

Travefy expects to introduce its initial insurance integrations before the end of 2026. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The partnership follows wider developments in travel insurance distribution, including HelloSafe’s launch of its Atlas marketplace for travel businesses, designed to help agencies, tour operators, and booking platforms offer insurance products.
