AXA partners with Motogo to provide insurance to Hong Kongers
The partnership will see two products – comprehensive travel insurance and a parametric typhoon insurance – offered to Motogo members
AXA Hong Kong and Macau has announced an insurance partnership with Motogo, a mobility services provider in China’s Greater Bay Area.
The agreement will see AXA offer two new insurance solutions to Motogo members: a cross-boundary travel insurance policy called Motogo Care – Guangdong and Macau Travel Insurance, and a parametric typhoon product called Tropical Cyclone Coverage.
The companies stated that the aim of the partnership was to enhance protection for motorists, in the face of “increasingly volatile weather conditions and expanding regional travel”.
The travel insurance product offers “comprehensive” protection to customers travelling within the Greater Bay Area, with medical coverage of up to HK$300,000. It also offers benefits for travel delays, missed events, and journey curtailment.
The Tropical Cyclone Coverage product offers a guaranteed, automatic benefit payout when a tropical cyclone warning signal of 9 or above is issued for a specific period.
“By combining advanced climate modelling with an automated payout, we empower customers to navigate the growing risks posed by extreme weather events with confidence,” said Kenneth Lai, Chief General Insurance Officer at AXA Hong Kong and Macau. Additionally: “As cross-boundary mobility becomes an integral part in daily life for Hong Kong residents, our tailored travel insurance ensures seamless protection across the region.”
AXA Hong Kong and Macau also announced a deal to sell travel insurance to customers of the Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) in December 2024.
