AP Companies approved as Lloyd’s DCA, broadening claims capabilities

Lloyd’s DCA approval brings delegated claims handling together with medical management and cost containment for complex international travel and health insurance programmes

AP Companies has been approved as a Delegated Claims Administrator (DCA) within the Lloyd’s market, expanding its ability to provide claims administration, handling, and processing services to Lloyd’s market participants within its authorised scope.

The move strengthens the company’s global third-party administrator (TPA) offering, bringing claims administration together with its existing medical assistance, case management, cost containment, and provider network capabilities.

AP Companies said the integrated model would be particularly relevant to international health, travel, expatriate, maritime, and other cross-border insurance programmes, where claims handling could be closely linked to medical decision-making and healthcare cost control.

The company, which has operated in international healthcare management since 1997, supports insurers, assistance companies, and corporate clients across more than 170 countries. Its network includes more than 125,000 medical providers.

The Lloyd’s approval also marks an expansion of AP Companies’ presence in the London insurance market as it develops its international TPA services.

Natalya Butakova, CEO of AP Companies, said: “Becoming a Lloyd’s DCA is an important milestone for AP Companies. It allows us to bring together the capabilities we have built over many years across medical assistance, claims management, cost containment, and global provider network management. For our insurance partners, this means greater continuity, visibility, and control throughout the entire claims journey, with one partner able to manage both the medical and claims sides of complex international cases.”
