Aon extends Virgin Voyages travel protection partnership

The partnership extension underscores rising demand for tailored travel protection as cruise operators adapt to evolving traveller expectations

Aon Affinity Travel Practice has extended its relationship with Virgin Voyages to administer the cruise line’s US travel protection programme, known as Voyage Protection.

The programme offers a range of benefits for US-based customers, including trip cancellation and interruption cover, medical protection during travel, emergency evacuation, baggage delay and loss assistance, and 24/7 global support. Expanded benefits are set to apply from 2026.

Aon said the programme was designed to reflect how Virgin Voyages passengers travel, with protection available when booking via the cruise line’s website or through travel advisers.

Aon Affinity has supported Virgin Voyages’ customers since the cruise line’s US launch in 2021. The extension of the agreement reflects continued collaboration between the two companies as travel protection offerings evolve alongside customer expectations.

The ITIJ team recently spoke to industry experts about whether existing cruise insurance policies were keeping pace with the changing market.
