Air Doctor to offer services to UK Post Office
The UK Post Office has partnered with Air Doctor to add comprehensive non-emergency medical assistance to its travel coverage
The announcement – which comes ahead of the summer holiday season – will enable new and renewing Post Office travel insurance customers to access Air Doctor’s telemedicine and assistance for free.
The service will be ‘standard across all Post Office single trip, annual multi-trip and backpacker travel insurance policies and across all levels of cover – Economy, Standard and Premier bought online, over the phone or in-branch from 3rd July 2023’.
Air Doctor will work with the Post Office’s emergency medical assistance service – if a local doctor recommends hospital for a customer, they can be handed over to that service for more intensive assistance.
Air Doctor’s network includes over 20,000 qualified doctors worldwide, with links to medical facilities in 75 countries. The service is accessed via the Air Doctor mobile app, and will enable Post Office customers to locate and book appointments with trusted doctors while abroad.
The app supports seven languages, while telemedicine services are available in up to 21 languages, with appointments available in person, via video call, or through a visit to customers’ accommodation. Air Doctor also provides 24/7 multi-lingual support when needed.
Paul Paddock, Head of Travel Insurance and Protection at the Post Office, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Air Doctor to help our customers access non-emergency medical care while on holiday at no extra cost.”
Travel insurer Faye also announced that it would offer Air Doctor services to its customers under a similar arrangement earlier this month.
