The latest update from the European Aero-Medical Institute (EURAMI) announces the first EURAMI conference at ITIC Global, Barcelona, in November
Save the Date – first EURAMI conference
The EURAMI Board & Office are delighted to invite all EURAMI members to the first EURAMI conference which will be held on 4 November 2023 at the W Hotel in Barcelona. The full-day conference will take place before ITIC Global takes off. Our conference agenda committee – consisting of Sergio Abril, Eva Kluge, Volker Lemke, Clive Gillard, Dr Bettina Vadera and Dr Yann Rouaud – is already busy drafting the first ideas for our four sessions. Topics will range from medical to operational as well as safety and quality panels – making sure that our members will have a platform to discuss and engage. Together with the Board and EURAMI Office, the conference agenda committee will strive to address current topics and issues in the world of aero-medical transportation. The conference will be reserved to EURAMI members only. We look forward to welcoming many of our members to the first EURAMI conference and will launch further information in due course.
EURAMI Accredited Provider Self Service
EURAMI Accredited Provider are now able to further optimise their re-accreditation process as well as fleet changes through the EURAMI Forum. The EURAMI Forum (www.eurami-forum.org) is a members-only platform which allows for providers to apply for re-accreditation, additional base audits and addition of a new aircraft to their fleet through the self-service tabs. All providers are obliged to have all bases and aircraft used for medical transportation accredited with EURAMI.

Issue
In the May issue we consider the affinity partnerships for travel insurers and discuss which ones work best for insurers and assistance companies. We also examine which control measures assistance companies use during Hajj; look at cost containment and international patient management for MEA-based patients crossing borders for healthcare; and explore price escalation for medical care during high tourist seasons in areas that depend seasonal patients.
