The board of the European Aero-Medical Institute shares its latest news with ITIJ, detailing which air medical providers are demonstrating their committment to quality care in the air through undertaking and successfully completing the accreditation process

Ace Air & Ambulance

Ace Air & Ambulance, based out of Harare, Zimbawe, has once again successfully completed its re-accreditation with the European Aero-Medical Institute e.V.

Ace Air & Ambulance was re-accredited Regional Fixed Wing Air Ambulance with an endorsement in Adult Critical Care. Ace Air & Ambulance operates out of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport and is the only accredited EURAMI provider in Zimbawe. The company, which has been accredited with EURAMI since 2016, holds a fleet of two dedicated aircraft – a King Air 350 and a King Air 200. Specialized in providing care in a challenging environment, Ace Air & Ambulance has been supporting its clients since 2014 under the leadership of CEO James Halsted.

AirMed International

AirMed International – a global Aero-Medical Operator with its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama – has once again been re-accredited by the European Aero-Medical Institute e.V. since achieving its primary accreditation in 2009.

Besides achieving accreditation in Long-Range / Intercontinental Fixed Wing Air Ambulance and Regional Fixed Wing Air Ambulance the company was also awarded medical endorsements in Adult Critical Care, Advanced Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care and Neonatal Critical. In addition to achieving accreditation in Fixed Wing Air Ambulance for the bases in Birmingham, Las Vegas, San Antonio, and Ypsilanti, AirMed also successfully underwent primary accreditation for its dedicated Commercial Airline Medical Escort company in Mississauga, Ontario, earning them accreditation in Commercial Airline Medical Escort.

Sunwest Aviation

Canada-based Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Provider Sunwest Aviation has successfully achieved its primary accreditation with the European Aero-Medical Institute e.V.

The Canadian Operator has been awarded with Regional Fixed Wing Air Ambulance and Intercontinental / Long-Range Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Accreditation as well as an endorsement in Adult Critical Care. Having started the Accreditation Process during the pandemic, the company was successfully approved by the Board in September 2022. Sunwest Aviation, operating out of Calgary, Alberta, operates a fleet of six dedicated aircraft, ranging from Learjet 45, Learjet 35A to King Air 350’s.

UNICAIR

Newly merged global Fixed Wing Provider UNICAIR has been successfully accredited after finalizing its merger between renowned companies Jetcall and Air Alliance.

UNICAIR was awarded accreditation in Long-Range / Intercontinental Fixed Wing Air Ambulance and Regional Fixed Wing Air Ambulance as well as endorsements for Adult Critical Care, Advanced Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care and Neonatal Critical. The company – under the leadership of CEO Michael Diefenbach and Medical Director Dr. Alex Veldman – operates a large fleet of dedicated Air Ambulance aircraft, ranging from Learjets to Challenger 604s out of its German bases in Idstein, Cologne, Zweibrücken as well as its newly accredited base in Vienna, Austria.
