Zurich acquires BOXX Insurance
The takeover will see BOXX integrated into Zurich Global Ventures, enhancing Zurich’s digital services
Zurich Insurance Group has announced its successful purchase of Canadian cyber insurance and risk management firm BOXX Insurance.
The acquisition will see BOXX integrated into Zurich Global Ventures (ZGV), accelerating the company’s ability to offer cyber-related services to its retail and small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers. BOXX will continue to operate under its own name.
Zurich said that, as well as offering services across life protection, travel benefits, and travel, ZGV aims to deliver “holistic, value-adding, digital-first products and services” to its customers, spanning prevention, protection, and recovery.
“We have had a very successful collaboration with BOXX since 2021, and I am thrilled to strengthen our partnership by welcoming BOXX to Zurich Global Ventures,” said Cara Morton, CEO of ZGV. “BOXX’s digital-first, service-led approach will help us further enhance customer engagement and provide integrated solutions that make people’s everyday life easier.”
Zurich also recently acquired AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business, including the Travel Guard brand.
