The UK launch of the travel medical and baggage insurance option follows its success in mainland Europe

Travel and expense management platform TravelPerk has announced the UK launch of a new travel medical and baggage insurance add-on, in partnership with battleface.

The add-on is intended to meet the needs of TravelPerk customers who need coverage when travelling for work. Coverage can be purchased via TravelPerk’s digital platform for business travellers booking return flights.

Full policy documentation can then be accessed via the same platform.

The partners stated that the UK rollout follows the successful launch of the add-on in mainland Europe.

The new add-on will complement TravelPerk’s existing suite of protection, which includes coverage for trip cancellations and 24/7 in-trip customer care.

“When we surveyed business travellers, nearly 30% had encountered medical issues during work travel that were not covered by their policy, and 39% reported being unprotected for lost luggage,” said Jon Hoar, Senior Vice President for Product at TravelPerk. “This new offering is our solution so they are covered for any eventuality – simple, reliable protection built directly into our platform, ensuring our customers can travel with confidence.”

Travel booking website Wingie also formed a partnership with battleface earlier this year.
