Travel platform expands globally with embedded insurance rollout in Asia

Cover Genius has partnered with Tongcheng Travel to introduce embedded travel insurance for international customers, with new offerings launching in Malaysia and the Philippines.

The move marks a key step in Tongcheng Travel’s international expansion, enabling customers to access protection directly within the booking journey. The integration aims to enhance the end-to-end travel experience as the company grows beyond China to serve a broader global audience.

Through a single application programming interface (API) and unified commercial model, Cover Genius allows partners to launch and scale protection products across multiple markets while reducing the complexity of working with different insurers and regulatory systems.

As travellers increasingly expect integrated protection, the collaboration reflects a broader shift toward seamless, technology-driven insurance embedded within digital travel platforms.

The company recently announced the closure of a successful $80 million Series E funding round, led by Spark Capital to expedite Cover Genius’s growth plans in the embedded insurance sector.
