Around 40 per cent of people believe that health insurance is the most important type of insurance coverage to have, according to a new study from Zelros

The study surveyed 1,000 people across the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. Despite the majority of people believing that health insurance is the most important, that same survey revealed that 33 per cent of people do not have active health insurance policies.

Some additional takeaways from the data are:

  • 43.8 per cent of people have either no insurance or only one insurance policy
  • 30 per cent of those individuals over 54 years old have either no insurance or only one policy
  • more than one in 10 people lack any insurance coverage at all.

One reason why so many people may be going without health insurance coverage is due to the cost. However, the future of insurance may provide more affordable options with the help of personalised plans through Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

Zelros leverages data and uses AI to push personalised insurance recommendations across channels, improving the customer experience at every touch point. Zelros hopes that it helps insurance providers create targeted insurance recommendations so people aren’t paying more for coverage they may not need.
