Slovenia to launch digital nomad visa
The visa will be valid for one year, and will require successful applicants to work exclusively with non-Slovenian employers and clients
Slovenia has announced plans to launch a one-year digital nomad visa on 21 November 2025 to encourage new talent to the country.
Applications for the digital nomad visa will be open to citizens of all non-European Union (EU) and non-European Economic Area (EEA) countries.
Applicants will be required to be employed by a non-Slovakian employer, or work exclusively with non-Slovakian clients.
Once issued, the visa will be valid for a total of 12 months, with no possibility of back-to-back renewal. Those wishing to reapply after the expiry of their original visa must spend at least six months elsewhere, then reapply.
Under the terms of the visa, the bearer can also bring their family with them – provided that they do not work for a company based in Slovenia either. Visa applicants must also confirm that they have sufficient funds for family members to be supported while in the country.
Applications for the new visa can be made online, or via the nearest Slovenian embassy.
The UK recently announced the introduction of e-visas for Pakistani workers and students.
