Sensible Weather partners with New York Hotel
Insurtech firm Sensible Weather has formed its first strategic hospitality partnership, with New York City’s Renwick Hotel
Sensible Weather offers parametric coverage to travellers in the event of undesirable weather events. Under the new arrangement, guests of the Renwick will be able to acquire this coverage as part of the hotel’s online booking process.
Renwick guests who add the Weather Guarantee product to their reservation will receive a payout, based on the day-of forecast, in the event that an unforeseen weather event disrupts their trip.
“We recognise how much planning and investment goes into taking a vacation, and we want to empower people to enjoy stress-free travel and protect their trip,” said Nick Cavanaugh, CEO and founder of Sensible Weather. “Partnering with The Renwick gives us the opportunity to offer peace of mind to travellers visiting popular destinations such as Manhattan this spring season and beyond.”
Managing general agent (MGA) Pattern Insurance also announced the launch of a new weather protection insurance policy for the US travel market in September 2022.
