The policy applies to all reservations for travel to the European Union until 31 December and is part of the action plan undertaken to help agencies guarantee protection for their clients at a time of complexity.

The insurance doesn’t only cover incidents with Covid-19, but the main benefit of the policy will be that the travel agency’s clients will be covered if any of the members who made the reservation catch the virus. 

Additionally, the coverage includes medical expenses, extended stays for family members and repatriation. Access to benefits is managed with a phone call to the insurance company from the client’s destination.

More and more companies have started to include Covid-19 cover, including a broad variety of companies in the tourism industry that did not used to offer travel insurance. Hopefully, this will give some incentive to travellers to take trips and revive the tourism sector.
