PJ Hayman raises cancellation cover limit
The company has also increased its maximum age for coverage – it credits the impact of the pandemic for the changes
Travel insurance broker PJ Hayman has raised its cancellation cover from £20,000 to £50,000. The company has also raised the age limit for coverage to 85 years, up from 75 years.
According to PJ Hayman Managing Director, Peter Hayman, the changes are in response to a growing number of travel restrictions worldwide since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Due to the travel restrictions … there is an increase in consumer demand for expensive ‘trip-of-a-lifetime’ holidays,” Hayman explained to UK business publication Insurance Age.
“Standard travel insurance often doesn’t have a high enough cancellation limit to cover these. A simple top-up means there is enough cover available, should the worst happen,” he added.
Allianz Partners also announced enhancements to its trip cancellation coverage in December 2022.
