Moroccans with a valid Schengen or US visa will not be required to obtain a separate Peruvian visa under the new arrangement

The government of Peru has announced that it will allow Moroccan citizens who hold valid Schengen or US visas to visit the South American country for tourism without obtaining a separate Peruvian visa.

The decree allows eligible Moroccan travellers to stay in Peru for up to 183 days per year, as part of either a single continuous visit or multiple stays.

Both the traveller’s Moroccan passport and their visa must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Peru.

The move reciprocates a similar measure implemented by Morocco in 2017, which removed visa requirements for Peruvian citizens holding ordinary passports.

It is hoped that the change will strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and stimulate the country’s economy through tourism and trade.

Egypt has announced plans to launch the first phase of its digital visa-on-arrival system on 1 August.
