PayingTooMuch expands travel insurance panel with Gigasure

UK travel insurance comparison site PayingTooMuch has added insurtech Gigasure to its panel as it expands its presence in the travel insurance market following a relaunch.

The partnership will make Gigasure’s travel insurance products available through PayingTooMuch, which specialises in comparing policies for UK travellers, including older customers and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

PayingTooMuch has been developing its standalone travel insurance comparison proposition and expanding the range of providers available through its platform.

Gigasure will add a digital-first offering to the panel, allowing policyholders to manage their cover through an app and make changes after purchase if their travel plans or insurance requirements change.

The insurtech also offers GigaShield Flight and Baggage Delay, an optional benefit that uses real-time travel information to notify customers of qualifying delays. Depending on the cover selected, customers can receive benefits including airport lounge access and cash payments for airport expenses following delays of more than three hours.

The partnership forms part of Gigasure’s wider distribution strategy and gives the insurtech access to customers searching and comparing cover through PayingTooMuch, while further expanding the comparison provider’s travel insurance panel.

In other news, Expedia Group has named Redion as its first dedicated travel insurance and assistance advertising partner, expanding a relationship between the companies that dates back more than 15 years.
