Travel insurer PassportCard has launched a new service designed for digital nomads and remote workers

With remote working now at an all-time high, PassportCard made the strategic decision to bring its ‘red card’ to the growing digital nomad community. If a nomad or remote worker requires a doctor, or has an emergency, a dedicated app simply ‘tops up’ the card in real time, providing comprehensive protection for its customers.

Requiring no paperwork or red tape, the insurance provides a highly bespoke and flexible plan, no matter where customers live or what stage in their adventures they are at.

Responding to a growing demand

Digital nomads now form a significant part of the global economy, currently consisting of a total of 35 million people. Accelerated through a blend of enhanced technology, better connectivity and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this remote working trend has allowed a new generation of workers to learn new skills, build their contact base and deliver the same service level while travelling the world.

Leor Catalan, CEO of PassportCard Nomads, said: “Now is a really important time for PassportCard, as we enhance our offering and respond to demand during this ongoing, challenging time for the world. Our end-to-end, digital insurance product is a creation of diligent marketplace analysis and our commitment to putting customers and their needs first.”

In 2020, PassportCard Deutschland, in partnership with Allianz, has launched its international health insurance product in Germany.
