Niva Bupa launches international health plan
New Delhi-based health insurer Niva Bupa (formerly Max Bupa) has launched a new comprehensive health plan for international travellers
The plan, called TravelAssure, offers a range of coverage, including for emergency in-patient and outpatient medical treatment, covering consultations and diagnostic tests; Covid-related hospitalisation; emergency medical evacuation; dental treatment; personal accident cover; daily hospital cash for out-of-pocket expenses.
Other features include coverage for travel delays, trip cancellations, trip interruptions, missed connections, loss of passport, loss or delayed check-in of baggage, loss of international driving licence, loss of electronic gadgets, and ‘bounced’ hotel and airline bookings.
The insurance also offers pre-existing disease coverage for ‘emergency inpatient medical treatment’ for students studying abroad. Students are also covered for a range of maternity care, including for delivery, abortion, and newborn hospitalisation and vaccination costs.
It follows the launch of a similar product by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance in June.
