Navacord acquires SécuriGlobe
Canadian broker Navacord has announced its acquisition of Montreal-based firm SécuriGlobe
Navacord said the takeover, which came into effect on 1 April, will “double the size of its travel portfolio, while also expanding its presence in Quebec”.
Founded in 1999, SécuriGlobe specialises in distributing travel and health insurance tailored to Canada’s ‘snowbird’ population – Canadians, typically retired, who migrate south to the US during the winter months. However, the company also offers products to travellers visiting Canada.
“As Navacord continues to broaden our reach across different niches and regions, the addition of SécuriGlobe positions us well for further geographic expansion and product diversification,” said Shawn DeSantis, President and CEO of Navacord.
Navacord previously appointed Melanie Muise as its new President for Personal and Travel Insurance in July of last year.
