Munich Re partners with DNI for Global Health takeover
DNI will help administer the transition in collaboration with MedNet
Multinational insurer Munich Re has partnered with insurer Dubai National Insurance and Reinsurance (DNI) to aid in its takeover of Generali Global Health’s (GGH) Global Choice insurance plan.
Munich Re acquired reinsurance operations for Global Choice policies in July 2021. Global Choice was one of GGH’s plans designed to provide flexible, modular international health insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises and their employees.
Direct billing medical network remains in place
DNI will be employed as a third-party administrator in collaboration with Middle East-based managed care service provider MedNet Global Network to ensure a smooth transition to the new ownership. All international network direct billing facilities previously provided through GGH will now be provided by MedNet upon customer renewal of the policy.
DNI previously worked under GGH to serve members of the scheme, and was selected in part due to its familiarity with the scheme’s benefits. It says that this process will continue under the new partnership with Munich Re.
DNI was selected in part due to their familiarity with the scheme’s benefits, having served Global Choice customers in the past. Munich Re and DNI have stated that they will maintain the existing policy benefits and terms and conditions of Global Choice.
According to Abdulla Al Nuaimi, CEO of DNI: “This exciting new collaboration affirms our commitment to continuously provide the same level of benefits and enhanced quality services to our clients and existing policyholders.”
“DNI has been a trusted partner, and we are eager to work together and continue to expand our portfolio of services in the coming years,” said Dr Frank Mayer, CEO of Munich Re.
