Mental health cover boost from Cigna Healthcare International
Collaboration with Headspace provides 24/7 mental health support for eligible Global Health Benefits customers
The Global Health Benefits (GHB) business of Cigna Healthcare’s International Health division is collaborating with Headspace to expand its mental health solutions for its globally mobile customers and covered eligible dependents.
This enhancement complements GHB’s portfolio of clinical programmes to allow steering from its case management and customer service pathways to ensure customers are guided to the support they need. Headspace, a mental health support app, offers unlimited access to one-on-one mental health coaching and evidence-based mindfulness content, including exercises for sleep, meditation, focus, stress, and fitness for everyday wellbeing.
The offering provides eligible GHB customers and their covered eligible dependents with digital-first, virtually led, data-driven mental health support available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The app offers ease of access to quality care via text-based coaching, which can lead to improved mental health outcomes.
The link between mental and physical wellbeing
Addressing the critical and growing need for robust mental health support, this collaborationunderlines the important connection between mental health and overall health and vitality. Research from Cigna Healthcare shows that adults with strong mental health are 10 times more likely to have high vitality, which leads to improved physical health and greater engagement with their wellbeing.
