MedWorks and Health4Travel announce partnership to broaden cross-border healthcare access
The collaboration will combine the companies’ healthcare networks and digital platforms
MedWorks and Health4Travel have agreed to a strategic partnership to extend cross-border healthcare access. The agreement follows meetings between the companies’ leadership teams in Toronto in August.
Health4Travel brings its international provider network and digital healthcare platform to the partnership. The platform connects insurers and assistance companies with doctors in 55 countries, supporting appointment booking, price information, and cashless payment between providers and insurers. Its technology also manages insured members’ details and coverage throughout the process.
MedWorks contributes its North American provider network and healthcare technology, including its Health Passport and AI-enabled patient-engagement platform. These tools support appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and navigation through the healthcare system, while its network includes clinics and healthcare organisations across Canada and the US.
Under the framework, MedWorks will lead activities across North America, while Health4Travel will focus on its international markets. The companies will work to connect their provider networks and booking platforms, allowing Health4Travel’s insurer, third-party administrator (TPA), and assistance clients to use participating North American clinics, while MedWorks customers will be able to receive care through Health4Travel’s international network.
Initially, the focus in North America will be on using the Health4Travel platform to connect participating Canadian clinics with international travellers seeking medical care. The companies then plan to extend the arrangement to the US and other markets.
Over the coming months, the companies will work on integrating their systems and provider networks, with a joint committee overseeing the initial phase of the collaboration.
