Klook, AXA launch travel protection product
Travel and leisure e-commerce provider Klook has joined forces with AXA Hong Kong & Macau to provide travel protection via its platform
Through the partnership, the two companies have launched Klook Travel Care – a comprehensive travel protection product for Hong Kongers which provides coverage for a wide range of standard activities, as well as Covid-related protections for trip cancellation, interruption or medical expenses.
“With the gradual reopening of borders in countries, we have seen increasing demand in travel insurance products, amongst other protection plans,” said Kenneth Lai, Chief General Insurance Officer at AXA Hong Kong and Macau. “Hence, we have launched this comprehensive travel insurance product to safeguard customers amid the post-pandemic period. Going forward, we will expand our product range available at Klook, from travel-related insurance plans to other general insurance products, providing better protection with ease for our customers in an ever-changing world.”
CS Soong, Vice President for Corporate Development at Klook, added: “We are delighted to partner with AXA to launch the first Klook travel insurance in the Hong Kong market, providing customers with a more comprehensive and seamless travel booking experience.
“With the gradual relaxation of border measures in Hong Kong, consumer demand for travel bookings has surged. At present, overseas activities, hotel accommodation, flight tickets and insurance are all available for one-stop booking on the Klook platform, providing customers with more diversified services,” Soong continued.
Klook previously announced a similar partnership with fellow Hong Kong-based insurer FWD Group in August.
