Kenya launches new digital nomad visa
The government of Kenya has announced a new visa for digital nomads, allowing them to live and work in the country
The new visa, known as the Digital Nomad Work Permit, was announced by Kenyan President William Ruto at a press conference in Nairobi on 2 October, and is “specifically designed to welcome global digital professionals” to the country.
Applicants for the visa must have an annual income of at least $55,000. Additional requirements include a valid passport, proof of remote work, a clean record, and evidence of accommodation in Kenya.
It is currently unknown what the duration of the visa will be.
Japan announced a digital nomad visa of its own in February this year.
