Travel insurance specialist Just Travel Cover has named Italy as the top destination for British tourists

A survey by Just Travel Cover, a broker specialising in travel insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions, asked previous customers to name their most-loved holiday destination.

According to the survey, Italy is British tourists’ favourite place to travel globally.

While a considerable proportion of those surveyed found that Italy was the place for them, with 10.7% of participants choosing it as their most loved holiday spot, the US was close behind with 7%, followed by Spain with 6.9%.

Dale Robinson, Head of Marketing and Communications at Just Travel Cover, said: “It’s clear to see why Italy consistently features in our top 10 destinations and is the most loved among our customers, but beyond the excitement of planning your next trip away, it’s crucial to consider the unexpected.”

With millions of people booking their 2024 holidays now, finding adequate travel insurance should be a priority for travellers to protect against unforeseen circumstances, including medical emergencies abroad.

Late last year, research company Euromonitor International revealed that Paris has retained the title of the world’s leading city destination, followed by Dubai in second place and Madrid in third. Tokyo came in fourth, while Amsterdam rounded up the top five.
