International SOS appoints new Global Security Services Head
The company has appointed Giles Hill to the role, building on his prior experience as Chair of its International Security Advisory Board
In his new role, Hill will be accountable for all of International SOS’s security services, and will be responsible for ensuring that they innovate and meet the highest standards.
The new role builds on Hill’s previous appointment as the Chair of International SOS’s Security Advisory Board last year.
Hill also brings expertise to the role obtained through his 33-year career in the British Army, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant General.
His military career included leadership roles in a number of high-stakes operations in regions such as Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. International SOS stated that this has “equipped him with a profound understanding of global security dynamics”.
A “complex threat landscape”
“In today’s complex threat landscape, our clients’ urgent needs demand innovative and unparalleled solutions,” said Arnaud Vaissié, Co-Founder and CEO of International SOS.
“As Chair of the International Security Advisory Board, Giles had already significantly shaped our strategic direction. His distinguished career and unwavering commitment to transforming global security are truly commendable. Furthermore, his dedication to mentoring the next generation of security professionals will undoubtedly propel our security team to new heights,” he added.
In June, International SOS also shared advice for LGBTQ+ travellers and employers to mark the start of Pride Month.
