The two-track competition sees both early and later-stage companies compete for prize winnings of over US$300,000, aiming to be the most investable, the best carrier and the best broker partner. More than 200 businesses applied to take part and 24 judges from across the insurance sector were involved in choosing the finalists, which represented various segments of the insurtech chain, including artificial intelligence, big data, life and health.

“Our team was impressed by the startups in the competition this year,” said Adam Blumencranz, Vice-President of NFP Ventures. “They rival the top startups we find in our scouting process.”

The InsurTech NY Spring 2020 Conference takes place on 19 March. Here, the finalists will present their offerings and judges will select winners for both the early and growth-stage tracks. The early-stage finalists are JAUNTIN, Sigo Insurance, Micruity, Atidot, Agilius, WOOP!, Protosure, AdaptReady, SAIVE and Kiwi Insure; while the growth-stage finalists are Zelros, WeatherCheck, Planckdata, DeadHappy, Pharm3r, Matterport Insurance, INSHUR, Wenalyze, EasySend and Quick Insured.

“Insurtech is one of the most robust and diverse areas of investment in today's business climate, and this competition is a great way to meet exciting companies, make a difference in their success, and help advance the industry,” said David Gritz, Co-Founder of InsurTech NY.
