IHF launches Covid-19 beyond the call of duty programme
The programme recognises and honours healthcare organisations and service providers that have put in place outstanding and innovative responses to Covid-19
The International Hospital Federation (IHF) has now launched Beyond the Call for Duty for Covid-19 Recognition Programme. Led by IHF Chief Executive Officer Dr Eric de Roodenbeke and Programme Committee Chair Dr Lawrence Lai, the programme will recognise actions and responses of healthcare organisations and service providers around the world that went ‘beyond the call of duty’ such as putting in place innovative responses or actions when facing the Covid-19 pandemic in their region or country.
“IHF’s mission is to support hospital performance improvement” said Dr de Roodenbeke. “We launched this recognition programme to highlight the responses or action taken by health leaders to put their hospitals in capacity to face the pandemic, to recognise the altruism and dedication of healthcare workers around the world and to provide an opportunity for healthcare organisations to celebrate with their respective teams and/or external stakeholders involved in their Covid-19 response.”
Dr Lawrence Lai commented: “One of the main goals of the programme is to collect interesting and diversified stories of how the healthcare industry responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. This also features the dynamics, proactiveness and diversity of the healthcare sector. The Programme Committee is excited to discover and showcase these stories to celebrate the efforts done by our colleagues around the world.”
Each healthcare organisation or hospital is eligible to submit one entry, the submission of which is open from now until 1 September 2020. Details of entry criteria and more information about the recognition can be found on the IHF’s website here.
Recipients of the recognition are to be announced in November 2020.
