Holidays on the horizon, time to get excited?
Editor-in-Chief Ian Cameron weighs up this month's news
For what seems an eternity of time, we here at ITIJ have been covering the pandemic and how it affects the travel health insurance industry across the globe; and this month is again, unsurprisingly, much of the same.
And for many months, phrases such as ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ and ‘the green shoots of recovery’ have been bandied about like free tickets to an Ariana Grande concert.
But, for the first time, with travel starting to be allowed again across the globe (although somewhat patchy), there’s a feeling that we might even be out of that tunnel (albeit it’s still rather misty and murky in the daylight on this side), as some destinations across the globe start to open for business again.
Beach resorts across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Americas are cautiously opening their doors, as are other tourist destinations and attractions across the globe, whether with limited access (like the bubble between Oz and NZ) or a more general access for multiple nations.
So, whoopee!!! It’s time to dust off that stomach pump, check that defibrillator is charged, put some fuel in the (air) ambulance and unlock the doors for the international patients (all done in a Covid-safe manner, of course).
Nothing like a holiday to make you feel better, right?
