Generali Global Assistance provides travel assistance services to FMCA RV Club members
Effective from 1 October 2020, Generali is providing the non-profit RV owner association based in Ohio, US, with medical emergency and travel assistance services for its members
The Generali Global Assistance Travel Assistance offering is included with each Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) membership – no additional fees are required for cover – and offers medical protection and assurance to RV drivers anytime they are 75 miles of more from home (full-time RVers are always considered more than 75 miles from home, FMCA notes).
The FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance services include assistance for:
-
medical evacuation and repatriation;
-
return home;
-
return of dependent children;
-
RV return (limited to North America);
-
return of private passenger automobile (limited to North America);
-
pet return;
-
and accidental death and dismemberment.
The insurance for the FMCAssist programme is underwritten by Chubb while the travel assistance services are provided by Generali, part of the Europ Assistance Group.
FMCA National President Jon Walker noted that the FMCAssist program has saved many lives by helping people get the care they need when they need it, and FMCA CEO Chris Smith added that this type of plan would usually set people back hundreds of dollars, if not more.
