Generali consolidates assistance and travel insurance operations under new Redion brand

Generali is unifying its assistance, employee benefits, and travel insurance businesses globally as insurers increasingly pursue integrated, technology-led care platforms

Generali Group has launched a new global brand, Redion, consolidating its assistance, employee benefits, and travel insurance operations under a single identity.

The rebrand combines the activities of Europ Assistance and Generali Employee Benefits (GEB), bringing together travel protection, medical assistance, employee benefits, and embedded insurance services within a unified global platform operating across more than 190 countries.

As part of the transition, Generali Global Assistance (GGA), GMMI, and Trip Mate – the US-based entities operating under Europ Assistance – will also adopt the Redion name with immediate effect.

The move follows several years of operational integration within Generali’s Care division and comes after the acquisition of Swiss Life Network earlier in 2026, which strengthened the group’s employee benefits capabilities.

Generali said Redion generated €5.8 billion in annual business volume in 2025 and employs more than 12,000 people globally.

The consolidation reflects broader industry efforts to integrate insurance products with medical, mobility, and assistance services through single digital ecosystems.

The platform serves multinational corporations, travel companies, financial institutions, and business partners, providing services including travel insurance, emergency medical assistance, mobility support, and workforce protection programmes.

Antoine Parisi, currently CEO of Generali Care Hub, will lead Redion as Global Chief Executive. He said: "The Redion name carries no geographic or sectoral ceiling. But what I want people to understand is that behind the technology stands a network of tens of thousands of doctors, nurses, roadside technicians, and local experts who show up in person when it matters most.”

In North America, the rebrand marked the latest phase of expansion for the former Europ Assistance USA business, which was previously restructured under the Generali Global Assistance name in 2016.

The company said additional brand transition activities across the region would continue throughout 2026. Executives said the rebrand would not affect existing contracts, service arrangements, or operational teams, with continuity maintained for clients and distribution partners.

The launch also highlights growing investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and data integration across the assistance and travel insurance sectors.

Generali said Redion would operate with a unified data strategy and shared technology infrastructure designed to improve response times, personalisation, and service coordination.
