Travel insurance startup Faye has released both Vacation Rental Damage Protection and Adventure and Extreme Sports Protection products

The coverage types, which can supplement international or domestic travel protection policies, provide those who prefer short-term rental stays over hotel lodging with an extra layer of protection in case accidental damage occurs in rental. The company’s adventure protection provides medical coverage if travellers become injured while participating in an activity or extreme sport, like skydiving, bungee jumping or free diving.

These join Faye’s other coverage choices that can be tacked on to plans, including Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR), Pet Care and Rental Car Care.

Doron Samish, VP of Product, Faye, commented: “These two trip extras were no-brainers, as we aim to enable further customisation to Faye travel insurance policies. Whereas our base plans already provide non-extreme sports and activity coverage for the more mild-hearted travellers who enjoy activities like surfing, hiking and skiing, Faye’s Adventure and Extreme Sports add-on is for those that go all-in on action – with in-trip activities like heli-snowboarding and cliff diving. We know there’s no one-size-fits-all in travel, especially when it comes to thrill-seekers looking for an extra level of adventure.”

Adventure & Extreme Sports protection includes medical coverage if the traveller becomes injured while participating in activities like skydiving, paragliding and free diving. Specifically, Faye can cover up to US$250,000 (international trips) or $50,000 (domestic trips) in accident and sickness expenses, as stated in the policy, to cover injury from adventure and extreme sports on the same basis as all other injuries.

Short-term rental insurance add-on

Lauren Gumport, Vice President of Communications and Brand at Faye, said: “When it comes to lodging, vacation and short-term rentals are the ideal accommodation choice of many, from groups to families, as they seek the comforts of a home. We added Vacation Rental Damage Protection to our coverage options as when you hit the road to your dream destination, the last thing you want to worry about is a spilled glass of wine or accidentally breaking a vase in the Airbnb you’ve booked. Unintentional damage happens, and this coverage provides those travelling with Faye even more peace of mind in-trip.”

Faye’s Vacation Rental Damage Protection can reimburse travellers on repair or replacement costs for the vacation rental property they’re staying in, and its contents if they unintentionally damage either. Examples of covered, unintentional vacation rental damages include:

● Broken dishes, furniture, windows or doors

● Damaged electronics or appliances

● Internal fire damage

● Stained rugs, carpets, sheets or floors.

In addition to releasing new coverages, Faye is putting an increased focus on partnerships with like-minded brands and travel providers who put customers first.
