The new service aims to reduce medical disruptions to international business travel by combining AI-driven health screening with clinical oversight

Everbridge has expanded its travel risk management portfolio with the launch of an artificial intelligence (AI) driven Pre-Travel Health Screening service, designed to help organisations safeguard employees before they set off on international trips. The new solution will be showcased at Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The service uses Salesforce Health Cloud to guide travellers through a secure, self-completed medical questionnaire. Based on responses, it can provide immediate travel clearance or escalate cases to a clinician or doctor for further review and, where necessary, laboratory testing. Everbridge said the system enabled employers to reduce avoidable medical emergencies, fulfil duty of care responsibilities, and give travellers greater confidence when abroad.

“Health issues are one of the leading causes of travel disruption – often avoidable with the right information upfront,” commented Dominic Jones, SVP of Business Development at Everbridge. “This new service helps customers proactively identify risk before wheels up, ensuring safer travel and faster decisions when it matters most.”

The company highlights four main benefits of the new service: proactive risk mitigation, reduced costs by lowering the likelihood of expensive medical evacuations, support for regulatory and insurance compliance, and stronger traveller confidence.

Everbridge customer Burns & McDonnell is already seeing value from the firm’s risk management tools. “Using Everbridge has been really helpful for us with all of our travellers,” said April Renner, Business Continuity Manager at Burns & McDonnell, during the Everbridge Discover Resilience 2025 conference. “We have a highly mobile workforce across the country and across the globe. So that really helps us feed in our traveller data, make sure that our people are safe. We’re able to notify them when they’re coming into a location or leaving a location.”

The Pre-Travel Health Screening service is now available as an add-on module for new and existing Everbridge Travel Protector customers.

A new survey by World Travel Protection highlights gaps in employer support and the extra risks faced by women, LGBTQ+ and younger professionals on work trips.
