Two thirds of SMEs say offering health and wellbeing benefits to their workforce boosts productivity, according to latest research from global health providers Cigna Europe
The Road to a Healthy SME is a new guide for small businesses that comes with 40 cost-effective tips to support employees and their families’ Whole Health. It follows extensive research by the company into the current state and future of care delivery, recognising that Whole Health is more than just physical and mental health.
How SMEs can benefit from looking after their employees Whole Health
“Our new guide provides SMEs with the support they need to achieve success by looking after the Whole Health of their most important asset: their people,” Amy MacKay, Sales and Commercial Effectiveness Director, Cigna Europe, said.“Small and medium-sized enterprises play a pivotal role in the Whole Health of their employees, as they are in a privileged position when it comes to intervening positively in this area. However, we know this doesn’t come without its challenges as many small businesses are short on time and resources.
“There are many benefits of investing in employee Whole Health. Our guide provides affordable and straightforward solutions, designed to support employers to implement quick, early interventions to help their business and employees to thrive during these challenging times and beyond.”
Another piece of research, Cigna’s Covid-19 Global Impact Study, shows that 31 per cent of UK citizens have taken time off work due to Covid-19 and 46 per cent feel that that pandemic has had an impact on productivity at work. The study also found that employees want more support from employers, with 43 per cent preferring flexible working location/hours, followed by financial support for Covid-19 testing (46 per cent) and enhanced healthcare services (42 per cent).
Last month, Cigna launched a new service for expats in the UAE to help them access affordable health services. Aimed at SMEs, corporate and government organisations, this new region-specific service will enable workers to access medical insurance and assistance from their mobile phone or laptop.
