Bupa announces senior leadership changes

Siobhan Moynihan, Clare Binmore, and Jesús Bonilla will take up senior roles in October, while Anthony Cabrelli retires and Mark Allan leaves the company

Bupa has announced several changes to its UK Executive Team, including the appointment of Siobhan Moynihan as General Manager of Bupa Global, Jesús Bonilla as General Manager of Bupa Dental Care, and Clare Binmore as Chief Financial Officer for Bupa Global, India & UK.

The appointments are due to take effect in October 2026, subject to regulatory approval, with all three reporting to Chris Carroll, CEO of Bupa Global, India & UK.

Moynihan, who returned to Bupa in 2022, will move from her current role as Chief Financial Officer for Bupa Global, India & UK to lead Bupa Global. She has previously held finance and leadership positions within Bupa, as well as at Resolution Life, Coventry Building Society, London Capital Group Holdings and Deloitte.

Binmore will join the Bupa Global, India & UK Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer. She joined Bupa Group in 2022 as Group Performance and Finance Transformation Director, having previously held senior finance roles at Aviva, Friends Life UK, Swiss Re and PwC.

Bonilla joins Bupa Dental Care following a 17-year career with Bupa’s Sanitas business in Spain. He has been Managing Director of Sanitas Dental since 2020, having previously served as General Manager for Sanitas Hospitals and Medical Centres. His appointment follows the departure of Mark Allan, who has led Bupa Dental Care’s strategy and transformation since 2022 and is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.

The changes also follow the retirement of Anthony Cabrelli, who rejoined Bupa in 2021 as Managing Director of Bupa Global. He has more than 40 years’ experience in international private medical insurance (IPMI), including 21 years with Bupa and five years at United Healthcare Group.

Cabrelli will continue to work with Bupa in board and advisory roles.

Chris Carroll, CEO of Bupa Global, India & UK, said the appointments would support Bupa’s strategy to transform healthcare, develop partnerships and drive growth in key markets, while thanking Cabrelli and Allan for their contributions to the company.

Iñaki Ereño, CEO of Bupa, added: “These appointments are recognition of the unrivalled strength and pipeline of leading talent we have across Bupa to be at the forefront of market-leading innovation around the world and meet our customers’ evolving health needs.”

Bupa recently opened a new centre in London’s Canary Wharf.
