British man dies in tourist bus crash on La Gomera
The vehicle was taking a British tour group on a Canary Islands boat trip
A British man has died and 27 people are believed to have been injured, three of them seriously, in a bus crash on La Gomera, in the Spanish Canary Islands.
The vehicle is reported to have fallen from height after losing control on an embankment near the capital, San Sebastián de La Gomera, around 1:15pm this afternoon.
The 27 British tourists on board were en route to catch a ferry to Tenerife, according to Sky News.
Emergency services, including rescue helicopters and an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene to rescue those trapped in the bus and transfer the injured to hospital.
The Guardia Civil has launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
In January, more than 40 people were killed in two separate train crashes on the Spanish mainland.
