BHTP to underwrite soNomad travel medical plan
Wisconsin-based Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection (BHTP) has announced an underwriting partnership with Canadian travel insurer soNomad
The company will provide underwriting services for the soNomad Travel Medical Insurance plan, via its Canadian subsidiary, the National Liability & Fire Insurance Company.
The plan is designed to provide Canadian travellers with medical coverage in the event of unexpected health problems or sudden injuries while outside of their home province or territory, or internationally.
“Our underwriting partnership with soNomad provides us with an exciting new opportunity in the Canadian market,” said Dean Sivley, President of BHTP. “With escalating emergency expenses – a possibility for Canadian travellers – our comprehensive travel medical coverage provides essential protection for their vacations.”
BHTP reported a significant rise in demand for travel insurance in 2021 in its seventh State of Travel Insurance survey.
