AXA Health appoints Dr Peter Mills as Interim Medical Director
He steps into the role within the commercial team, bringing extensive medical expertise and experience in the health insurance sector
AXA Health has appointed Dr Peter Mills as Interim Medical Director within its commercial team, following the departure of Dr Pallavi Bradshaw.
Dr Bradshaw left AXA Health in October to return to the Medical Protection Society, where she has taken up the role of Medical Director.
Dr Mills brings almost 35 years of medical experience alongside significant expertise in the health insurance sector. Most recently, he spent eight years as European Medical Director at Cigna Europe, during his second tenure with the insurer between 2015 and 2023.
His wider career includes eight years as Chief Medical Officer at employee health management specialist Vielife, which was acquired by Cigna in 2006, as well as more than 30 years of medical practice in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), specialising in respiratory medicine.
AXA Health is understood to be continuing its search for a permanent medical director to assume the role long-term, according to Health & Protection.
Recent AXA Global Healthcare research identified family support as a key factor in successful overseas postings.
