Amazon enter UK insurance comparison market
The Amazon Insurance Store is available to selected customers today, nationwide by the end of 2022
E-commerce giant Amazon has launched a price comparison website, allowing selected customers to compare prices on home insurance products. The Amazon Insurance Store will be available nationwide by the end of this year, including on the retailer’s UK mobile app.
Amazon has partnered with Ageas UK, Co-op and LV= General Insurance for the initial rollout, but has said more home insurance brands will join in the coming months. The current offering is for contents and buildings insurance, which can be purchased individually or together.
“Shopping online for home insurance is a well-established experience, and our goal is to exceed customers’ expectations when it comes to the Amazon Insurance Store,” asserted Jonathan Feifs, General Manager for European Payment Products at Amazon.
Amazon claims to have streamlined the quote questionnaire element of the buying process, providing a more transparent way of purchasing home insurance online.
