Allianz teams up with Country Walkers and VBT Bicycling Vacations
Allianz Global Assistance has announced two new partnerships, through which it will offer travel protection services to a new customer base
The partnerships are with Country Walkers and VBT Bicycling Vacations, which provide worldwide walking and hiking adventures and bicycling trip packages respectively; Allianz will now make trip insurance policies available to travellers heading off on trips via these providers.
Among the benefits on offer will be financial protection, 24/7 global assistance in the event of covered interruptions or cancellations, lost baggage, medical emergencies and more.
“Our partnership with Allianz Global Assistance offers our active travellers financial and medical protection for every leg of their journey,” said Timo Shaw, Oresident of both Country Walkers and VBT Bicycling Vacations. “As our customers cycle or walk the globe, Allianz is best positioned to assist them with unexpected travel disruptions and medical emergencies.”
It is good to see providers of trips taking a proactive approach to protecting their customers by nurturing partnerships like this – all too often, insurance is seen as separate from the overall planning of a trip, when it should always be considered an integral element of responsible planning.
After all, travellers rarely plan to run into difficulty on holiday, but it can quite easily happen – and where would they be without insurance?
