AllClear unveils 2025 travel trends
Beach holidays were the most popular kind of trip among respondents looking to travel in 2025
AllClear Travel Insurance has found that 91% of UK travellers have firm resolutions to book holidays abroad in 2025, according to a nationally representative survey of 2,000 UK residents.
The survey also found that six in 10 respondents who were intending to go abroad in 2025 were planning a beach holiday – the most popular type of holiday among those surveyed.
City breaks were also popular with 48% of respondents, while cruises were favoured by one in five adults (22%). The popularity of cruises was highest with those aged over 55, at 29%.
Relaxation and wellbeing is another top priority for holidaymakers in 2025, with 27% hoping to lounge by a hotel pool on their trip this year, while a further 18% are looking to go hiking on their holiday.
Around 14% of respondents said that they were planning a camping or caravan trip, while 4% are taking a sports holiday, and 3% an extreme sports break.
Almost half (49%) of UK holidaymakers are looking to go to the Mediterranean for their holidays this year, with a further 32% naming the Caribbean as their preferred destination. Despite the preference for warmer climes, 22% said that they were interested in going to Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
“Not only is the percentage of people planning to travel overseas this year a new peak but it is apparent that people are planning multiple trips aboard,” said Garry Nelson, Head of Corporate Affairs at AllClear Travel Insurance.
He added: “At a time of year when many people are browsing and booking holidays for 2025, we also encourage people to review their travel cover, especially for those planning multiple trips for the year ahead. For older travellers and those with medical conditions, we encourage people to shop around for the best possible medical cover to ensure they can travel with confidence when heading off abroad.”
AllClear partnered with Age UK’s commercial subsidiary Age Co to offer policies tailored to older travellers last year.
