AllClear extends medical emergency cover
The travel insurance firm has backdated its cover to include Covid-19-related medical expenses
Working alongside its underwriters, AllClear is now able to provide Covid-19 related benefits, including Covid-19 cover for medical emergency expenses; repatriation costs should it be deemed in the patient’s interests to be brought back to the UK; up to £2,000 towards costs of a relative staying with a recuperating Covid-19 patient; costs relating to recuperation in resort and flights home when it is deemed safe to return to the UK.
Furthermore, AllClear is to backdate Covid-19 cover relating to medical expenses to 13 March 2020 – when the World Health Organization officially declared the virus a global pandemic.
“We have been giving a lot of thought to when travel is permitted again and what cover benefits would be most relevant to a customer’s needs,” said AllClear Group CEO Chris Rolland. “We are particularly pleased that along with emergency medical expenses, repatriation back to the UK is included, as are costs for a relative to be with their loved-one while recovering from coronavirus overseas.”
The firm is also looking at additional ways to enhance Covid-19-related cancellation cover to offer travellers peace of mind when booking trips in the current, uncertain climate.
