Aek Udon International Hospital receives Covid-19 medical travel accreditation
The hospital in Northern Thailand is now the seventh facility in the country to receive the Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) Covid-19 Certification of Conformance for Medical Travel
Aek Udon International Hospital in Northern Thailand was accredited on 9 December 2020, with the prioritised treatments for medial travellers at the facility being identified as infectious diseases, chronic diseases (HT, Type 2 DM etc.) and gastrointestinal diseases.
“While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to be an ongoing challenge, I am extremely proud of the work our team has done quickly and continuously to keep patients and staff safe by following the internal regulations as well as national and international protocols and guidelines to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 infection for the patients and staff,” said Dr Arunee Chatpaitoon, Director of Aek Udon International Hospital. “Achieving GHA's Certification of Conformance with Covid-19 Guidelines for Medical Travel Programs is a very important step to confirm that the hospital is providing the highest standards of service in medical tourism, and that medical travel patients are receiving top quality care and service along the entire Medical Travel Care Continuum.”
The seventh facility accredited in Thailand
Aek Udon International Hospital is the most recent facility to receive the Covid-19 medical travel accreditation in Thailand. Previously, Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic, Bumrungrad International Hospital, Phyathai 1 Hospital, Praram 9 Hospital, Princ Suvarnabhumi Hospital and Ratchaphruek Hospital all received GHA’s Covid-19 certification.
GHA developed the guidelines back in 2020 to identify healthcare institutions that are uniquely focused on mitigating Covid-19 infection risks for medical travel patients and companions throughout the entire care continuum, including providing guidance for travel, as well as interactions with the healthcare organisation, hotel and ground transportation.
