1Cover partners with Adyen to support payments
Adyen will serve as 1Cover’s sole provider of payments infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand, replacing a legacy setup with multiple payment providers
1Cover Travel Insurance has formed a new partnership with global financial technology firm Adyen to support its operations across Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership will see Adyen serve as 1Cover’s single provider of payments infrastructure, replacing the company’s legacy payments setup – built up over time using multiple providers across different regions.
The move is expected to reduce operational complexity and lower administrative costs for 1Cover, driving greater scalability, streamlining operations, and further elevating the customer experience.
The announcement of a longer partnership follows a one-year collaboration between the two companies, starting in May 2025, which the insurer says achieved around A$35,000 (US$25,000) in savings across its first nine months, with an expectation of savings worth A$50,000 across the entire year.
“Working with Adyen has allowed us to remove key friction points from our payments experience, making it faster and easier for customers to transact with us,” said Natalie Ball, Managing Director of 1Cover. “At the same time, we’ve reduced costs without compromising performance, which is a clear win for the business as we continue to grow our footprint across Australia and New Zealand.”
1Cover launched a digital travel insurance pass for smartphone wallets earlier this year.
