SkyCare soars higher
The next generation of safe, seamless medical repatriation
At SkyCare, every mission is a promise – to bring our patients home safely, swiftly, and with the highest standard of care. That’s why we operate one of the most advanced air ambulances in the world, the Pilatus PC-12 NGX.
SkyCare delivers something unique – seamless, end-to-end patient transport that’s safe, compassionate and uncompromising
The aircraft
Already a world-renowned air ambulance, this next-generation aircraft combines cutting-edge safety features with unmatched versatility, making it the ideal platform for the diverse and often complex missions we carry out every day.
The PC-12 NGX’s innovative avionics, give our pilots a clear and comprehensive view of the skies, while features such as Emergency Decent Mode (EDM), flight envelope protection, and intelligent power management, add layers of safety for every journey. Its ability to operate from short and remote runways means we can reach patients in places many other aircraft simply can't – whether that's to bring someone home for urgent treatment, to accompany a patient on a long-distance repatriation, or to provide a life-saving neonatal transfer. SkyCare is dedicated to ensuring every patient receives timely access to expert care.
The interior
Inside, the cabin is configured to function as a fully equipped airborne medical suite, allowing our highly skilled team of consultants, doctors, and specialist nurses from London’s leading hospitals to deliver intensive care at altitude. From stabilising a critically ill patient thousands of miles from home, to ensuring the safe transport of those with infectious conditions using specialist isolation equipment, our worldclass medical teams bring hospital-level expertise directly to the skies.
The aircraft’s spacious and adaptable interior also allows us to meet the most sensitive of needs, including the dignified retrieval and repatriation of those who have passed away, ensuring their return to loved ones with the utmost respect and care.
By combining the proven reliability of the PC-12 NGX with one of the most experienced and respected medical teams in the field, SkyCare delivers something unique – seamless, end-to-end patient transport that’s safe, compassionate and uncompromising. For us, it’s not just about moving people from one place to another – it’s about doing so with precision, dignity, and providing complete peace of mind. SkyCare further reinforces its customer commitment as an Accredited Service Provider for The International Assistance Group (IAG) and through its ongoing progress toward EURAMI accreditation.

Issue
We include an examination on defining ‘fitness to fly’, and ask if an industry standard can be identified, and what that would involve. We also look at capacity in the aeromedical market and experts share their insights. Ethics and transparency in the aeromedical sector is a big issue, and we include an investigation into air ambulance payments.
