Redefining neonatal and paediatric medical transport

REVA Kids has been a major focus in 2026. What prompted this increased focus on dedicated neonatal and paediatric transport?

We identified a growing need for specialised neonatal and paediatric transport. Few providers with global reach offer a dedicated programme, yet demand continues to grow. REVA has transported young patients for years, but we recognised the need to give the service greater structure while helping fill a market gap.

These missions require a different approach from adult transport. Children are not simply smaller adults. Their clinical needs, equipment and medication requirements are highly specific.

What makes REVA Kids different, and how has REVA developed its clinical expertise and capabilities to meet the unique needs of young patients?

REVA Kids combines established clinical protocols, specialised equipment, experienced NICU and paediatric clinicians, and collaboration with leading healthcare organisations. Our NICU and paediatric guidelines and protocols provide clinicians with a consistent framework for these specialised missions.

Our investment includes a new custom transport Isolette and sled, complementing our existing BabyPods. We have also added dedicated paediatric equipment and supplies at all bases, expanded our clinical staff and continued developing our capabilities through joint training with centres of excellence and their transport teams.

Our network continues to expand through relationships with hospitals and transport programmes in the US and internationally. These partnerships help us share knowledge, strengthen continuity of care and plan each mission around the individual patient rather than adapting a standard adult transport model.

REVA won the ITIJ Award for Air Ambulance Company of the Year at ITIC Global last year. What did that recognition mean to the team?

Winning the award was a tremendous source of pride across REVA. Being recognised by ITIJ in front of the international travel insurance community, including many clients and partners, made the moment especially meaningful. The award recognised our clinicians as well as the operations, aviation and support teams working behind the scenes.

Since receiving the award, we have continued to strengthen and formalise REVA Kids. We have introduced comprehensive clinical protocols, invested in specialised equipment, expanded our team and developed joint training opportunities with leading neonatal and paediatric transport teams.

What are REVA’s priorities for the Kids programme, and what should hospitals and families know about its capabilities?

Our priorities remain quality, patient care and compassion. We want to provide the highest possible level of care for neonatal and paediatric patients, supported by strong safety standards, clinical protocols and dedication to every mission.

REVA Kids supports neonatal and paediatric transports, including transfers between centres of excellence and complex domestic and international missions requiring specialised equipment and clinical expertise.

Families should know that we understand their challenges. A child’s transport affects the entire family, so we treat parents and loved ones as part of the care experience. That means communicating clearly, showing compassion and supporting them throughout the journey, not simply moving a patient between locations.

Looking ahead, we want to grow REVA Kids by strengthening current partnerships and developing relationships with leading healthcare systems and centers of excellence around the world. Our goal is to continue building trust with these institutions, their clinical teams and, most importantly, the patients and families they place in our care.
