Spectrum Aeromed describes its work with operators, medical directors, and clinical teams to develop configurations that meet specific operational needs

Spectrum Aeromed continues to expand its global footprint by delivering certified air medical solutions across a wide range of fixedwing platforms, designed to meet the evolving needs of international operators. From short-range repatriation flights to long-haul critical care missions, we provide customised turnkey solutions that prioritise safety, performance, and seamless integration.

A major trend in the industry is the growing demand for long-range aircraft for medical transport. Spectrum Aeromed has been at the forefront of this shift, with ongoing projects focused on platforms like the Bombardier Challenger 600 series. This aircraft has become a popular choice among air ambulance service providers, and several recent industry award winners are now operating medically equipped Challengers. Their success reflects both the aircraft’s capabilities and our ability to provide certified, scalable solutions that support complex medical missions.

In one recent project, Spectrum Aeromed supported the air medical conversion of a Dassault Falcon 900, working closely with a completion centre to design and install a solution optimised for intercontinental patient transport. The equipment package included stretcher systems, oxygen delivery, and advanced cabinet storage. Our team supported every step of the process, including engineering integration and coordination with aviation regulatory authorities to ensure smooth certification.

Legacy aircraft also remain a strong part of the global air ambulance fleet. In partnership with Fargo Jet Center, Spectrum Aeromed delivered medical interiors for two Bombardier Learjet 75s used by the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ General Aviation Inspectorate. Each aircraft was equipped for dual patient transport, with Spectrum’s medical racks, oxygen systems, and cabinetry supporting the mission.

Similarly, our team supported a Learjet 75 programme for Poland’s Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (LPR), the national air ambulance service. The project involved customising the cabin to support longrange intensive care missions and ensuring the installation aligned with both medical protocols and civil aviation requirements. These aircraft continue to serve across Europe and highlight our experience in working with governments and international emergency medical service providers.

At the centre of every project is the voice of the customer. Spectrum Aeromed works closely with operators, medical directors, and clinical teams to develop configurations that meet their operational and patient care needs. We also support onboard medical training and offer equipment packages that match the level of care required by the mission.

We bring extensive experience in navigating regulatory and certification environments, collaborating with both global authorities and local civil aviation agencies to streamline approvals. Whether coordinating with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency or working directly with national aviation bodies, our team ensures compliance is built into the process from the start.

Our commitment to true turnkey delivery is what sets Spectrum Aeromed apart. We partner with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and aircraft completion centres around the world to integrate our equipment into broader modification projects. These collaborations help reduce customer burden and ensure each aircraft is delivered ready for mission execution, without delays or vendor gaps.

Looking ahead, Spectrum Aeromed is exploring next-generation needs, such as liquid oxygen systems and flexible cabin layouts, to equip air ambulance teams with reliable, compliant, and customised solutions. From Challenger 604s to Learjet 75s to Falcon 900s, we deliver missionready medical interiors backed by engineering expertise and a commitment to global air medical operations.
