A culture of excellence
ITIJ speaks with Salvador Belilty Haro, CEO at Logimedex, about political instability, harnessing new technology, and vital accreditation
Logimedex has been operating for eight years. What have been the biggest challenges for the industry recently?
Over the past eight years, Logimedex has witnessed the industry's evolution, facing strategic challenges such as supply chain disruptions, a more demanding regulatory framework, and the accelerated adoption of new technologies. These challenges require companies to invest in innovation and develop the ability to adapt quickly and continuously.
The Covid-19 pandemic exposed vulnerabilities in the global logistics structure, driving up costs and causing delays. Additionally, digitalisation and automation have shifted from being competitive advantages to becoming essential operational requirements.
At Logimedex, our strength lies not only in our technical capabilities but also on the alignment of our team. Coordinating a system that integrates clients, patients, suppliers, and collaborators demands operational precision and a culture of excellence. Maintaining this balance has been one of our greatest challenges and, at the same time, a strategic pillar that will continue to drive our growth and leadership in the sector.
How much does political unrest affect your services, and what procedures do you put in place to alleviate disruption?
Political instability can have a significant impact on our services, particularly regarding the stability of the supply chain, regulatory changes, and potential operational disruptions. At Logimedex, we take a proactive approach to monitoring geopolitical events, enabling us to anticipate risks and make informed decisions to mitigate their impact.
To manage potential disruptions, we have implemented robust contingency plans, including supplier diversification, the identification of alternative logistics routes, and the continuous strengthening of our relationships with key stakeholders in the sector. Additionally, we train our team to adapt swiftly to changing conditions, ensuring minimal impact on our clients, patients, suppliers, and collaborators.
Flexibility, strategic planning, and constant communication are key pillars in maintaining operational efficiency, especially during times of uncertainty.
How are Logimedex harnessing new technology to help with their services?
Technology is advancing at a rapid pace; however, in Mexico, there is still no clear regulation defining its use, limits, and capabilities. At Logimedex, we are implementing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise operational efficiency and support our employees in carrying out their daily tasks.
However, until these technologies reach full development and validation, we do not implement them in their entirety. Instead, we carefully integrate the best available solutions, ensuring that our operations remain safe and efficient. Technology is a central component of our strategy, allowing us to maintain our competitiveness and deliver high-quality services in an ever-evolving sector.
How vital is accreditation to Logimedex?
Accreditation is essential for Logimedex as it ensures compliance with the highest industry standards, strengthens the trust of our clients and partners, and reinforces our commitment to quality and safety. Maintaining these standards allows us to provide reliable services while adapting to the sector's regulatory demands.
We currently hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, reflecting our dedication to efficient and standardised processes. Additionally, for the fourth consecutive year, we have been recognised as a Socially Responsible Company (ESR), a distinction that highlights our ethical management, environmental sustainability, and community contributions.
As previously mentioned, our relationship with our employees is crucial. This year, we also received the Great Place to Work certification, underscoring our commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. These achievements reflect our vision of continuous improvement and our commitment to maintaining excellence in everything we do.
You attended ITIC Global in Vienna in November. How important is the conference to the company?
ITIC Global is a key event in the industry, providing an exceptional platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and staying updated on the latest trends and innovations in the market.
Before founding Logimedex, I had the opportunity to attend ITIC events, which have always been enriching experiences, both personally and professionally. Over the years, ITIC has played an essential role in our industry, not only by providing valuable information and business opportunities, but also by facilitating lasting connections with friends and business partners. Through ITIC events, we can meet regularly, strengthen relationships, and foster collaboration.
We deeply appreciate ITIC’s efforts to unite industry professionals and continue offering a space for learning, networking, and growth. We look forward to future events and the continued success we will achieve together.
