Company Profile: Jet ICU
JET ICU shares how, from humble beginnings, it has progressed into being a significant player in the global fixed-wing air ambulance market, operating a fleet of medical jets from its base in Florida, US
JET ICU’s story begins in 2001, when a pilot who loved being in the cockpit thought, ‘how can I do what I love and help make a difference?’. It was then that our founder, Michael Honeycutt, had the dream of building an air ambulance company with just one aircraft.
Today, from our facilities at Tampa International Airport in Tampa, Florida, we are proud to have completed thousands of life-saving air ambulance transfers worldwide, with more than 50 employees and seven Learjets. Accredited by the National Accreditation Alliance of Medical Transports (NAAMTA) and ARGUS, our dedication to our patients, clients and each other has earned us the top safety rating.
In the uncertain world of Covid-19, JET ICU is one of the few companies transporting Covid-positive patients. Our isolation unit is BS EN ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 13485:2003 accredited and has already transported over 100 patients in 2020. With certified respiratory therapists and a medical team highly trained in intensive and critical care, we offer ventilator support to safely transport a coronavirus patient.
Prepared for anything, JET ICU stands apart and is ready for any type of medical emergency. Our jets are fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment. We offer all levels of medical transports, including commercial medical escorts: our commercial medical escort services consist of full bed-to-bed services, securing hospital admissions, co-ordination of all flights with our in-house travel agents, and the arrangement of all ground transports. Patients benefit from our medical team’s international experience as an air ambulance medical crew, prepared for anything that may arise during a commercial transport with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved equipment.
Our patients are always our number one priority, and this commitment does not end when the patient is safely home. Our in-house legal team are advocates for our patients long after we have completed their safe transport. They work directly with health and travel insurance companies to help reduce the out-of-pocket costs for patients and their families; once again, putting the care of patient at the forefront of what we do.
JET ICU is proud to be serving the global medical travel insurance industry and hopes that its reputation continues to grow. We are committed to dedicating resources to the ongoing growth of our services, including a new hanger at Tampa International Airport, advanced equipment, aircraft, technology, and overall infrastructure.
